Laser hair removal.  Sounds a bit scary for those of us not use to anything more than a Bic Razor to remove unwanted hair.  And, I suppose I never have really understood the importance of having your hair removed via laser technology when it really isn't a difficult task to simply shave your legs and armpits every other day to maintain that smooth feel.

Every other day, pulling out the razor, smoothing on the shaving cream (with aloe because that makes for a more comfortable shaving experience, of course), and gently, or vigorously if you are in a hurry, shaving that ugly stubble from your body hoping that you make it out alive with no major cuts or bruises.

After countless shaving experiences and just a few instances of hidden razor attacks nursed ultimately by a bit of Vaseline, I began to think more about the process of laser hair removal.  In grown hairs have certainly added my discomfort, as well. No pain plus the overall efficiency factor of laser hair removal equals something to definitely consider!

Now, I have never been a big fan of the other hair removal options…waxing, tweezing, plucking, hair removal creams, or electrolysis.  But in a pinch, they'll do.

So, is laser hair removal a better option?  I suppose it depends on the wants, needs, expectations, and budget of the wanting consumer.  Here's the deal. Laser hair removal is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that uses laser light to remove unwanted hair.  It works by passing an intense beam of light through the skin targeting dark pigment called melanin, in the hair.  When the light beam hits the hair follicle, the heat destroys the hair follicle leading to the eventual slowing of the re-growth of the hair.  It's important to note, however, that it does take several treatments before you will truly be hair free…more than likely for only an extended period of time, not necessarily permanently.  That period of time can last for months or years with multiple treatments.
